What Are Solid-state Batteries?

Solid-state batteries are a type of battery technology that replaces the liquid or gel electrolyte found in conventional lithium-ion batteries with a solid material.

This innovation offers significant advantages, including improved energy density for greater storage, enhanced safety due to the elimination of flammable liquid components, and potentially longer lifespans.

Solid-state batteries utilize a solid electrolyte (made from materials like ceramics or polymers) to transport lithium ions between the anode and cathode.
